
As part of PepsiCo’s ”pep+” sustainable packaging journey to ensure packaging never becomes waste, they are the first beverage company to commit to a North American roll out of paper-based solutions across multipacks that have traditionally used plastic rings. As they pursue their Sustainability goals, PepsiCo continues to explore packaging options for beverage multipacks, in this case GPI’s newest innovation – the Z-Flute™ EnviroClip™ for six-packs of 16.9oz PET bottles – a two-ply structure – each ply made from 21pt GPI AquaKote unbleached paperboard laminated in perpendicular grain directions – forming an extremely strong package that securely holds the bottles in place, is easy for consumers to carry, and is applied at high speeds.
