Starburst’s New Bespoke Typeface Proves It’s Hip To Be Square(ish)

Mars-owned Startburst are chewy, juicy fruit candies introduced in the UK (as Opal Fruits) in 1959. The candy is squarish, has rounded edges, and is usually individually wrapped.

Recently, Starburst enlisted the agency Straight Forward Design to refresh its brand identity and reconnect with younger consumers. Straight Forward took inspiration from Starbust’s signature shape for the brand refresh, infusing the candy’s new identity throughout the update.
