In Snapple’s heyday of the 1990s, its juice and iced tea drinks came in glass bottles topped with metal caps. Inside those caps, Snapple would print trivia facts, making the packaging distinctive and giving the brand a slight edge over more popular and typical sodas.
Sadly, Snapple decided to do away with those heavy glass bottles and start using plastic counterparts, beginning in 2017 and completing the switch by 2021. Aside from the environmental impact of plastics, the transition away from glass meant that those bottles were less fragile and costly to manufacture and transport. Unfortunately, those advantages came at the cost of some of Snapple’s charm.
However, Snapple fans still miss those heavy glass bottles, and the brand is all too aware. Recently, they quietly dropped a special limited run of the beloved vessels, (sort of) announcing the release on their Instagram account.
